B.C.D. The Breast Cancer Dive

2nd Annual B.C.D. Dive To Survive

Raises $7,000 For

The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation

September 21, 2003
Bainbridge Scuba Center, Access A

Sunday, September 21, 2003 turned out to be a beautiful day following a week of disaster by hurricane Isabelle.  Isabelle did keep some divers from participating in the event, but it did not hinder the morale and enthusiasm brought by those who contributed by getting sponsors and enjoying the excitement of the treasure hunt.

Terri Jones and Ted Friel did a terrific job of coordinating the treasure hunt and hiding all the glow sticks in the quarry; wherein Charlene Glahn, Boni Carter-Sparrow, Sue Keiper, Diana Doheny and  Sandra Sparrow kept the flow going in selling chances, registering divers, selling shirts and keeping the event organized.  We would like to give special thanks to Debbie Marcellino and others for volunteering their time to achieve this success.

Awarded for special honor was Scott Legre who came in 1st place for achieving the highest in sponsorships and Ken and Michelle Barrick who came in 2nd.  Our hats go off to them for their contributions to the success of this event.

A special thanks also goes to Steve Mutchler, owner of Bainbridge Quarry, for allowing us to hold the event at the Bainbridge Scuba Center in Bainbridge, PA.   Also appreciated was the presence of Lynn Clemens, speaker for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

The committee of the B.C.D./Dive to Survive truly thanks all those who participated in making this event a success and contributing to the fight against breast cancer.
